We are the controller of personal data obtained via the Website, meaning we are the organisation legally responsible for deciding how and for what purposes it is used.

Personal Data We Collect About You

We collect only limited personal data:

Account Registration Data (User Sign-Up Function). If you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. Registration is handled via Supabase and may be completed either by email and password or via your Google account. If you choose to register using Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information made available by Google in accordance with your Google account settings.

Analytics Data. We currently use Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics. These, and any other analytics services we use, collect anonymised or pseudonymised usage data such as: pages visited, time spent on pages, browser type, general geographic region (country level only), device type. We do not collect precise location data and do not track users across unrelated websites.

Special Category Data

We do not intentionally collect sensitive or special category personal data (such as data relating to health, ethnicity, religion or political opinions). Please do not provide such information through the Website. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received such data, we will delete it.

Account Management. To create and manage your user account and provide access to Website functionality. Legal basis: Performance of a contract (providing Website services to you).

Who We Share Your Personal Data With

We routinely share limited personal data with trusted third-party service providers, including (but not limited to):

  • Supabase (authentication and database hosting provider)
  • Google LLC (Google Analytics)
  • Firebase (Google)

We only allow service providers to handle your personal data if we are satisfied they take appropriate measures to protect your personal data. Note that they may process data outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards in accordance with UK GDPR. We do not sell personal data.

Data Retention

We retain:

  • Account data for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account at any time.
  • Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google's default retention settings (which may vary between 2–14 months depending on configuration).

International Transfers

Some service providers we use are located outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR.

You generally have the following rights, which you can usually exercise free of charge:

Access to a copy of your personal data — The right to be provided with a copy of your personal data.

Google User Data

Our application uses Google OAuth to allow users to sign in with their Google account. The following applies specifically to Google user data:

Data Accessed: When you sign in with Google, we access your email address and basic profile information (name, profile picture) as made available by your Google account settings. We request only the minimum scopes necessary: email and profile.

Data Usage: Your Google email address is used solely to create and manage your account on our platform. We do not use your Google data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing our core service.

Data Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or share your Google user data with third parties, except as strictly necessary to operate our service (e.g. Supabase for authentication and database storage). We do not share Google user data with advertisers or data brokers.

Data Storage & Protection: Your data is stored securely in Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, disclosure or loss.

Data Retention & Deletion: We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at hello@dodged-search.com. Upon request, we will delete your data within 30 days.
